I haven't been here a lot but am trying really hard to remedy that. Though I wish I had lots of cool career news to share, I don't. So I thought I'd simply ask...what have you been reading? Anything good?
Me--I just finished a book called Paul Is Undead, about the Beatles as zombies, which should have been totally cool but just wasn't. Great concept...the execution just didn't make it work. I felt the same way about Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. (I'm such a sucker for a great, hook'y title!)
The last really awesome, amazing, can't-put-it-down book I read was The Passage. A huge post-apocalyptic futuristic about what is pretty much a zombie apocalypse only the zombies are vampires. Huge, epic, loved it!

Jennifer Estep and Shelly Laurenston are my new favs. Both write a good, fun story. A little on the violent - fights, murders - and sexual side... but nothing unwarranted, no uncomfortable sex scenes and some good LOL moments.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane. Almost half way in and really enjoying it. Was suggested to me by lots of people on twitter and I'm so glad I listened. I'm going with more of an UF book than romance, but really great world building.
ReplyDeleteLESLIE!!!! I am so happy to see you here.
ReplyDeleteI am reading a lot of things right now. She's Gone Country by Jane Porter, a mercy by Toni Morrison, Surf's Up, and antho with Janelle, Mary Janice Davidson, and Nina Bangs, The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen, Always Ready, a Hqn Blaze by Joanne Rock and Crave by J.R. Ward. Lots to keep me busy. I am eagerly awaiting Cold Touch.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Fights, murders and sex...I can deal with that...lolol!
ReplyDeleteLiza--judging by the title, this is a ghost book. Are they secondary characters, or a plot device? (Ghosts figure prominently in Cold Touch! Not sure how readers are going to feel about that, though I loved it!)
ReplyDeleteChess is the main character and she can see ghost. The ghost seem to be a plot device, but also seem to be characters in the books as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteWell, actually, I just finished reading your three Black CATS novels during the last three days. Loved it! Hope you decide to keep going with the series. I would love to see Blackstone's CATS back in action.
Just before that, I went through Stephanie Bond's Body Movers Series. Now I'm in the middle of Mum's the Word, by Kate Collins.
Also, Charlotte Hughe's Kate Holly Series is pretty entertaining -- funny mystery series. As is Gemma Halliday's High Heels Series.
Loved Cold Sight and can't wait for book 2! I haven't posted my review yet, but I will soon!
ReplyDeleteHey Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI'm a great fan of your books. I'm reading your first book of the CATS novel. And really, it's just georgious!
I'm from germany, so I can't read the second the book yet, because it isn't in the shops in germany yet.
But I love the book and I love your style of writing too.
Sorry for my bad English! :D
Lara.
